Hi, i've come across your blog recently and i find it really helpful. I am a 3rd year Btech student and i am planning to apply for MS in CS for Fall '11.
Regarding content in the blog, i think it would be great if you could throw some light on the various specializations in Computer Science (or any branch). It would help students like me to make the right choice while selecting specializations.
Thanks Ramy, will do so shortly. I am not a CS major per se, so I am only peripherally aware of CS research choices but will put together something.

I aspire to get into UW-Madison. Its a dream. Came to know about this university through a friend and i read a lot about it.
Can you just guide me through how i should build my profile to make my chances better to get into UW. Like, do the CS dept look for good projects or good acads or good research papers, extra curriculars etc.. I still have 7-8 months before i apply. So, i can work on my profile from on.

@ramyateja - Just posted an article in reply to your question. Do read it over and I hope it helps a little at least. You are on the right track though... that's the only way to improve your odds of getting into UW's CS department. Good luck!
